Learn about the Environment Tab and how to control various options.

Overlays

Skillfully manage overlays that guide your drawing and serve as markers for your next sketch.

globalaxis

Global Axis

Toggle the Global Axis from the top left of the Environment Tab. The Global Axis is displayed as red, green, and blue lines representing the XYZ axes. By default, visibility is off but can be toggled on or off here.

Grid

Toggle the Grid from the top right. The Grid is a set of reference lines marking the floor of Feather’s note. One grid unit is 1000mm. Sketches that extend too far outside the grid may not be visible. The focal length is 100m.

World

The overall appearance of your artwork is as important as the details. Use the following settings to change the ambiance, atmosphere, and mood.

Background Color

Change the background color from the bottom left. The selected background color is also used for fog color. The background color can be sampled using the Eyedropper tool.

Background Image

Tap the icon next to the active background color to import a background image. The imported image replaces the background color and does not move when you rotate or pan the view. The imported background image does not affect the fog color but does affect the Cutout material.

Fog

Toggle fog from the bottom right. Fog is a type of volumetric that gets denser with distance from the view. The fog color follows the background color. When fog visibility is off, the original colors of the curves are visible.

Lighting

Set up lights and cast shadows. Sketches with light and shadow can convey more emotion than those without.

Tap Render Mode Before Using Lighting

Tap the Render Mode icon in the Stage Panel to toggle the rendering method. Lighting settings and shadows are accurately displayed only in rendering mode.

You can make curves react to light or cast shadows by applying Materials.

Tap Lighting

Tap "Lighting" in the top-left Environment Tab to open the Lighting Tab. You can return to the Environment Tab by tapping "Back" in the Lighting Tab.

Change the Direction of the Light

Tap and slide the icon in the middle of the Lighting Tab to change the direction of the light. Slide up or down to adjust the altitude, and slide sideways to change the direction.

Set Lighting as View Direction

Tap the rightmost icon in the Lighting Panel to align the lighting direction with the current view.

Change Light Color

Tap the color in the Lighting Panel to change the light's color. You can also use the eyedropper or input a hex code.

Adjust Light Strength

Tap and slide the sun icon on the left of the Lighting Panel to adjust the light's intensity.

Ground Shadow

Tap 'Ground Shadow' to toggle shadows cast on the ground. Ground shadows apply only to Shaded materials. Additionally, the ground aligns with the grid position in the overlay.

Toon Shading

Tap 'Toon Shading' to toggle it on or off. Toon shading applies only to Shaded materials and displays as toon shading instead of gradients.

Effects

Adding effects is like the finishing touch to your work. Use various effects to make your design or artwork shine. Effects are also accurately displayed only in rendering mode.

Glow Area

Tap the light bulb icon to toggle the Glow area. Tap and slide to adjust the size of the glow. The Glow area is applied only to Glow.

Depth of Field

Tap the aperture icon to toggle Depth of Field (DOF). Tap and slide to adjust the F-stop of the DOF. You can also set the focus distance by setting the Orbit Point.

Grain

Tap the noise icon to toggle the Grain effect. Tap and slide to adjust the level of noise.

Pixelation

Tap the pixel icon to toggle the Pixelation effect. Tap and slide to adjust the pixel size.
