3D Joystick
Learn how to transform based on the global axes.
Tap and Drag Move Handle
The 3D Joystick moves or rotates objects based on the global XYZ axes. The global axes appear differently depending on the view direction, and so does the 3D Joystick.
Tap and drag the red, green, or blue cone of the 3D Joystick to move along the respective axis. Red is for the global X axis, green for the Y axis, and blue for the Z axis.
Tap and Spin Rotate Handle
Tap and spin the red, green, or blue arc of the 3D Joystick to rotate along the respective axis. Red is for the global X axis, green for the Y axis, and blue for the Z axis. The rotation center point is the invisible center of the selected object or resource.
Free Rotate
Tap and drag the center sphere of the 3D Joystick for free rotation. You can rotate the selected curve or resource like a trackball, and the rotation center point is the invisible center of the selected object.
In Perfect Views
The 3D Joystick is also useful for understanding the view direction.
In perfect views like the front view, side view, or top view, you can only use two of the three cones on the 3D Joystick. The shape of the arcs also changes based on the view. This is a natural occurrence due to the view direction, so do not be confused.
